I sat on my couch listening to Sarah share about all her planning for her wedding day. She was excited, but as many brides become, she was also overwhelmed. I hate when planning becomes overwhelming for a bride. I mean, think about it, its the day that begins the rest of your life…shouldn’t this be joyful for every bride. Not that it wasn’t, but it just seemed like the idea of “eloping” would suit Sarah. I normally don’t throw such a crazy idea out, but I went for it! Sarah lit up! Her smile reached cheek to cheek. She fell in love with this idea and I personally was beyond excited!!
Sarah asked me to plan the elopement, so of course I was very excited to help plan such an intimate time for an amazing couple! I threw out some location ideas and when she said Portland, my heart melted.
Green. Trees. Waterfalls. River. Rain…. an amazing city filled with friendly people. It was perfect!
We flew in on a Monday and took an adventure around the city and with much excitement we woke up the next morning. It was THE DAY, the day they had waited for, for so long.
Sarah ventured out to pick up her bouquet and crown from a florist (Swoon Floral Design) who was amazing. And a crazy last minute choice to hire a videographer (Colin Cabalka) who specializes in elopements (I now I am dreaming of specializing in elopements) joined up with us and also become our “tour guide” for the day. New friends were made!
The day was beyond anything these two could have dreamed of. Throughout the day Jeff and Sarah paused to mention how amazing the day was. The joy, the tears, the laughter, the location, and the people who were able to be part of this day was so amazing. Matt and I are beyond grateful that they chose us to be part of this day!
Jeff and Sarah touched our hearts and we are excited to continue our friendship with them. They have beautiful hearts and the love they have for each other is deep and we believe Jesus has great plans ahead for these two! Congrats to you both!
