A quiet Monday at home (big announcement!*)

Monday's are usually hard for most people. It's the day that we have to get back into the swing of things, chores need to be done, our list of to do's grab our attention again, and work must begin again. Today though was different, today was slow. Matt was home. I even slept in until 9:30 which I can't remember the last time I was in bed that late. I woke up to the kids cleaning house, thanks to Matt. Music was playing and coffee was had. It rained all afternoon which made me extra happy. As a desert girl rain is rare and so when it comes I embrace it fully. The smell, the sound, and all the gloominess of rain made for a perfect afternoon. There was nothing on the agenda, it was a great way to kick off the week.

After we cleaned, we talked about what needs to be done and planning out how to get everything done. We have four weddings to photograph this month and we are working hard on something NEW. (Big announcement very soon! You aren't going to want to miss it!*).

Our life is really full. Everything we have is amazing nonetheless but we have to be really intentional on how we can accomplish it all to the best of our ability as well.

In the midst of all things exciting we also are in a season of facing the reality that Matt has been told he has an autoimmune disease. This news has been very difficult to face. As his wife I have had a very difficult time watching what this does to him (for in sickness and in health, I choose him). Some days it hinders him from doing the most simple things and keeps him from creating. Matt is one who works hard, has fun always, is aways creating and doing projects, but some days he can barely walk because of the pain. So we are learning to take one day at a time and do well in that day. We are learning to be more thankful, work harder on the good days, and rest when that is all his body can handle. (We can use your prayers)

So today started with energy, coffee, cleaning, creating and then Matt needed to sleep. His body shut down. He slept for a solid 2-3 hours today. That is what was needed sand that is okay. We never know if he will wake up feeling refreshed and energized or hurting and tired, but today he woke up from his nap feeling good and energized. I was really thankful.

He was able to make dinner while I went out to look at two houses for possible Airbnb's as well as had a phone meeting with a possible bride. I am thankful I was able to take my time knowing Matt felt good. It's never easy to do anything when the people who love most are struggling. So again, we will continue to take each day at a time and we are hoping for lots of answers August 7th when we meet with a specialist (again we need prayers).

If anyone has a disease like this I would love to know what you to do help yourself deal with it?

*(the big announcement is coming real soon, REAL SOON!!!!)

**(sorry for being a tease, we will announce something new really soon)
